Mark O’Connell
Artistic Producing Director
Mark co-founded Lynx in 2003, for which he has produced and performed in Laughing Wild (dir. Liesl Tommy), The Turn of the Screw and the premieres of Contracts and stellYY. He also co-produced and played Matthew Shepard in Justin Deabler’s Prayer of the Expelled (dir. Dale Heinen) at The Oval House Theatre in London. As an actor his NY theatre credits include: The Culture Project, HERE, Expanded Arts, The Lark, NYC Fringe Festival, The Brick, and The Director’s Company. Regional credits include Romeo and Juliet (Romeo) at Northshore Music Theater, As You Like It (dir. Oskar Eustis), and Christmas Carol at Trinity Rep, and Angels in America (dir. Robert Moss) at The Hangar Theater. Film & TV include playing a prep-school prankster in Outside Providence with Alec Baldwin, a featured role on Third Watch, and the web series, Saige Winters: My Psychic Life. He wrote and directed the short-play Queen Anne’s Lace for the 2007 “Breaking Down Barriers” conference, to combat elder abuse. Mark received his MFA in acting from Trinity Rep Conservatory (now in association with Brown University). Mark is also a psychotherapist in private practice, and writes for Psychology Today, The Huffington Post, and Truthdig, among others. He is the author of the books, The Performing Art of Therapy (Routledge), and Modern Brides & Modern Grooms: A Guide to Planning Straight, Gay, and Other Nontraditional Twenty First Century Weddings (Skyhorse).
Aileen Barry
Artistic Managing Director
Aileen co-founded Lynx in 2003. With Lynx she performed in the premiere production of Contracts, Laughing Wild, Turn of the Screw and played the title role in the workshop production of stellYY at HERE. She co-wrote and performed in the three-person show Hello Kitty ; Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre. Regional credits include Marat/Sade, (Charlotte Corday), Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett ), Into the Woods (Cinderella), Assassins (Squeaky Frome), and Anything Goes (Bonnie ); The Alice Austin Theatre, Christopher Durang’s An Actor’s Nightmare (Ellen Terry) ;Robert Sinclair Theater. TV: Guiding Light. She has studied improvisation at Second City Training Center, NYC, and has performed with the Improv troupe “The Mulligans” at Arlene’s Grocery. Ms. Barry is currently Program Director of National Dance Institute. She has a BA in Theater and English from SUNY Geneseo.
